Root color was too light and my grays aren't fully coveredI wanted to love this so badly! But unfortunately, I didn't. I read all the instructions multiple times. I watched as many videos as I could. This isn't my first foray into the world of at-home coloring, but it is my first time with eSalon. I had high hopes! My root color was supposed to be dark (soft black). Very similar to my actual hair color. The ends were supposed to be lighter. I know I didn't mix up the 2, I was very careful about that. The application was simple, I sectioned my hair as I normally do and used a brush to fully saturate the roots, then I started the timer. I barely had any color left once I was done, and my hair isn't that thick. I'm aware that my hair takes longer to hold on to color, so I set the timer for the full 15, then let it sit for another 5 minutes before starting on my ends. I followed directions for that step, fully saturating my hair again, and set the timer for 10 minutes. I did the "Blend for Shine" step, then moved onto cleansing and conditioning. Once I got out of the shower, I could clearly see that my roots were lighter than usual! Brown instead of soft black, and many visible grays. My roots weren't colored before I used the coloring, so it's not due to a previous color. After styling, they're still brown. My ends have a bit of a golden hue to them. I'm happy about that part. They're a little more dry than I'm used to with boxed hair color, which is a bit of a surprise. I'm surprised and disappointed with my roots. Coverage was good howeverI chose light brown in hopes to start the journey of lightening my hair. My hair was already fairly light on the bottoms so I thought it would just match up my entire head. Instead I now have dark brown hair. This color is not light my hair is now much darker. It was disappointing color wise but the coverage was correct. Colour is nice but it doesn’t cover the greysThe colour is lovely but it doesn’t fully cover the grey hair - which I wanted. I am using this between salon visits so it is a little disappointing. Dried my hair, limp and loosened my curl pattern didn't cover all rootsI wanted to like this product. I noticed my curl pattern had loosened and my hair felt limp and dry as soon as I began the rinse process. Once I dried and styled my hair, grey coverage at the front roots was not fully achieved and the hair was, dry and limp not recommended for curly hair. 2 of 2 people found this review helpful.
