A warm chocolate mousse volcano...I can't review the final colour, because I couldn't finish. After waiting 15 minutes for the root application, I went back to finish, and had an eruption on my bathroom counter. The bottle was warm, the smell of ammonia was overwhelming, and the colour had completely changed consistency and looked like chocolate mousse. Somehow the dark brown with a neutralizer to get rid of the red turned my roots LIGHTER, and of course, I still have the red I was trying to get rid of, and was assured by my colourist would be gone for good. My hair is naturally a light / medium brown. ***Edit*** A replacement has been sent, a demi-permanent, rather than permanent. For all their "shock and awe" that this happened, it's happened to others. Fortunately, I wasn't about to use the exploded product, but this is exactly what my bottle looked like when I returned to do the rest of my hair. https://www.sitejabber.com/reviews/esalon.com The red is STILL there, but now it's a darker red. Surprisingly perfectI submitted a photo and chose the color that best matched my hair before it began to gray. I tried today and was very surprised that it is a near perfect match to my color before I started getting grays at the top in front. It is a lot of work to do it myself or maybe that is because I’ve never done color myself. But in the end I am very happy with it. It gives enough color without making me look completely different. WTH!!!The color I received came out a pinkish red. The ugliest color I've ever seen. Cancel any future orders. My hair is an auburn, not the crap I received. I've NEVER been so embarrassed. ImpressiveI used esalon first time. Communication was great. I got a honest advice after I described my hair colour issues. I used my new hair colour today , It so much better than the commercial hair colours. I know my hair issue is complex ,it will take few more months till the colour will be perfect. Finally I Found My ColorI just wanted to say thank you to eSalon- you did it! It took a few little tweaks but you listened and applied to achieve exactly what I was hoping for. My hair is now that medium brown I have been trying to achieve for YEARS.. The struggle has always been the color pulled brassy-- or it was way too dark. When I reached out to the eSalon team the color was better- but it wasn't exact to what I wanted- then I wrote to your experts a second time - small tweak- but still not perfect- third time around wrote again- moment of silence... Custom color setNow I LOVE my beautiful color, it suits me so well and I have recommended Esalon to everyone who comments on it!! The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because they don't send me quite enough color to cover my hair even tho I have expressed this many times to my color care specialist(s).
