All I need to worry about now is how to break up with my colorist.My hair situation is so complicated - it's long and my base color is dark brown, although it was much lighter before I had my 3 (now adult) children. I'm in my early 50s and am getting a fair # of grays now. I am in the sun and salt water every day. Try as I do to protect both my skin and hair, it's tricky. I have been going to the same colorist for decades in order to keep the natural, sun-kissed look of my 20s, and he has always warned me that I must never, never try at-home color. When the pandemic made salon visits impossible, I decided to bite the bullet and try eSalon. Based on the detailed profile and picture I sent in, the colorist assigned to my "case" suggested some tweaks to my original request,. As long as I was in for the proverbial penny, I said "sure" & sure enough, my box arrived very soon. After so many years of watching the pro at work on my head, I felt pretty confident going through the steps of coloring my roots, but I did appreciate the clear and simple instructions to safeguard my existing (and very expensive) baliage. (Loved the little sticker to put them up on my mirror so I could see!) The results are ... wow. Absolutely brilliant. I could not be happier with my base color & the way it blends with my ombre. I have so much confidence now, I am going to try touching up my highlights as well once the eSalon highlighting kit is back in stock ... and considering the money and time I just saved (I always found the hours in the salon amidst all the noise and requisite chit-chat a little tedious), I may not go back even when restrictions are lifted. Now all I have to worry about is how to break up with my (former?) colorist ... thinking of using all the $$ I save to send him a generous Venmo along with my thanks and farewells :) 0 of 0 people found this review helpful. First time user - pretty good results, not sure how to course-correct, thoughFirst, I have to say that I really like this site and that I had a custom color provided with beautiful packaging and instructions. That goes a long way towards making me feel more confident and excited to learn how to do my own color. I watched several videos to apply my color to cover about 2 inches of gray from living in lockdown for 2+ months. While the videos were clear, I struggled to know how to keep each tranche of hair separate. I didn't feel coordinated, and my hair got sort of pulled into clumps, rather than distinct sections. This is entirely a user error and I hope that with time (and maybe the help of my husband?) I will get better at the application process. I also wasn't sure how much color to put on, and I feel like I under-colored because some grayness is still present under the color. My roots look ever-so-slightly "hot" but not aggregiously so. So, all in, I will definitely use eSalon again because the product and guidance is good on the outset, but I'm still learning how to apply and what steps I could take to course-correct hot roots. 0 of 0 people found this review helpful. horrible deliverystill waiting on order from June 1, 2020. Also still waiting on order (replacement) from June 15, 2020. Didn’t cover my blondeThis didn’t work as promised. I said I wanted to cover my highlights to be one solid color and it didn’t cover them at all. It also didn’t fully cover my grey and I don’t even have that much grey. Pretty disappointed 0 of 0 people found this review helpful. Did you? |
