Custom color makes a difference, especially for previously lightened hairI hadn't dyed my own hair in over a decade when I ordered my custom color set, so I was definitely a little nervous about how it would turn out! I had grown out balayage that had become pretty brassy overtime. My natural hair color is golden medium brown and the custom color I ordered is about 2-3 shades darker than my natural color, so I was just wanting to go back to what I had before. I'm so thankful that my eSalon colorist reached out a few days after I placed my order to let me know they were including Colorfill in my kit for free. Apparently if I'd dyed the pre-lightened part of my hair without using the Colorfill on it first, it likely would have turned out with a greenish tinge. I'm so glad my colorist actually looked at the photos of my hair and provided a solution to avoid that outcome! If a real person hadn't reviewed my order and adjusted it based on my hair in the photos I provided, I probably wouldn't have been as happy with how my color turned out. The color kit was easy to use and my hair color looks beautiful, rich, and natural with no greenish tinge. I will say that maintaining brunette color on pre-lightened hair is challenging, especially if you're like me and can't tolerate washing your hair any less than 2-3 times per week. I'd definitely recommend getting some sort of color-depositing conditioner/co-wash, or making your own by adding brown demi-permanent dye to regular conditioner/co-wash. Make sure to saturate your hair with product and leave it on for about 5-7 minutes before rinsing. eSalon is a great option for folks who want custom color but don't want to pay $75+ at the salon every 4-6 weeks to maintain it. For reference, I'm a 30-year-old woman with no grays yet. Luxury at homeI had been going back and forth for months deciding if I was going to order, I finally did and I have to say I am in love, with the attention to detail, the presentation of the product and the results achieved. The whole process made me feel like a valued customer, I'm a sucker for little additional perks and the fact the product is personalised is such a perfect and personal addition its beautiful. Instructions are clear, two sets of gloves, a stain guard and remover which I've never received with any other dye. Great color!I have always gone to the salon for my color and I was always happy with my hair. I never considered coloring my own hair until the pandemic affected us. Everything about this product is great! I love the color and the directions were easy to follow. The kit has everything that you need to do your own hair.
