Not so happy this timeI have loved the healthiness of my hair after use on my past uses but this time it left my hair dried out. Even washing it out I could feel the change. First-time Using eSalon -- It's OKIt's been years since I've colored my hair. I truly wanted to keep my hair as natural as possible, but grays have started to pop-up and I just couldn't take it anymore. I found eSalon's Custom Hair Color while flipping through an Allure magazine. I love the convenience of ordering online and getting it shipped right to your door. So I hopped on to eSalon and completed my profile. My hair is naturally dark mahogany and thought it would be cool to change my color up a bit. So I went with a custom color with red hues. I received my custom hair color kit fairly quickly in October. I had concerns about the permanent coloring because of the ammonia and contacted my colorist about it to see if I could go with the demi version instead. She assured me that the permanent would be best for the color to hold. A little disappointed, but she knows color better than I do so to kept the kit. I held off from actually using the kit until yesterday November 30. I have never colored my own hair before so it took some getting used to. I did exactly as instructed--only needing to use the first set. The results? I was just OK with it. I really was hoping for a noticeable change with more red and being that I chose permanent that it would do just that. Of course nothing drastic, but at least a tinge of red to show through, but I got none of that. It did cover my grays, though. I'm going to see how long the color lasts because I purchased other eSalon products to maximize the color. For now, I've held off auto-delivery until I use my second color set. Harsh Chemicals and Wrong ColorMy hair is naturally a golden reddish brown and I decided to change it to a dark browish purple. I was provided a devloper and liquid color. The process is easy and the packaging looks nice. I followed all of the instructions and I've done my hair multiple times by myself. My stylist usually just mixes product for me and I apply it. (she's a close friend) Well I was busy and she was away so I tried this out. When I went to rinse the product my hair felt like straw!!! I had to use my Aveda moisture rich shampoo and deep conditioner right away bc it was super brittle!! I spoke to my stylist and told her what happened and she said IN NO WAY THIS A SALON STYLE PRODUCT. She said this is color from a Sallys or beauty salon. She said they should have only used a 6 on my ends and a 10 on my roots. They used a 20 and now my hair is BLACK. I'm cancelling my next order and will not use them again.
