Not even closeI went with a copper blonde color. The picture of the color i choose showed an almost ginger kind of color. My hair had been previously bleached and I included this in my consultation. When I received my color in the mail I was really excited and immediately began the process... The color was nothing, not even a little bit close, to what I was expecting from my consultation. My hair turned out to be a purplish/slight rose gold color (this is the best way I can describe it). Not a great experience for me!Ok, so first off I love esalon's hair products. I have never had an issue before now. I sent a picture, added that I wanted to go darker than my natural color with some lighter toned highlights, which i was prepared for highlights to not be apart of my kit, and get rid of old dye. However, what i put in my hair was NOT darker than my natural color. They sent two bottles, one for roots and one for ends. I followed instructions and procedures accordingly. About halfway through I started to realize the areas covered were lighter than my roots. I finished the process anyway because i didnt want half done hair. Needless to say my hair turned out about 2 shades light, WHICH IS NOT AT ALL WHAT I WANTED. I am not happy with the color at all. I hate writing bad reviews, but I just not a happy camper about this. I would much rather have my color fixed than a refund. -Update- 10/09/17 This is why I love esalon, they contacted me in regards to my hair, corrected the color adjustment and is sending me 🤞🏽The color I wanted. Just making an effort to fix a mistake isn’t good enough, but to fix it with courtesy, not charge me for it, and give the option of fast shipping is what a good business is all about. Won't do it againFirst let me start with the positive. The customer service is great. They are responsive, helpful, and very polite. Also, the color (so far) is nice and is the exact color I requested. The bad.... I filled out my profile explaining that it had been a couple of months since my last full color and also stating that I have very long, very thick hair with stubborn grays. They sent me one bottle for roots. This is when I contacted them and they were very helpful and sent me enough to do all of my hair without charging me extra. I really appreciated that. I colored my hair this morning and it was just like using any home product. Put it in, wait, and rinse/wash/condition. Well... trying to rinse this stuff out is a nightmare. It's so very waxy feeling. My hair felt like it was totally coated in wax and my hands felt waxy too. And they send one tiny packet of shampoo and conditioner. Again, I have really long, thick hair. This wasn't near enough. I had to wash my hair several times to get it to feel soft. Now my hair is really dry and hard to brush as it breaks off, but the color is good. I will wait to see how long it lasts before it fades. I will be sticking with the store brand. I was really excited to try this and I am equally as disappointed. The process and applications was great but color was wrongI loved the package and the quick time frame on which it was delivered. Directions were easy to understand and the personal touches were nice as well. Everything I needed was there. The application was easy for a DIY product and not a lot of mess. As I started putting the color in after a while I noticed it wasn't lightening as I expected. The color in the bottle looked good before and after mixing. My only complaint is that I didn't get the color I wanted or expected which I wouldn't say is a big deal based off everything else but that was the purpose for the purchase. I would rate a 5 If I got the right color or if I felt that the picture I included and the notations to my stylist were really taken into consideration before shipping my product. Overall my hair feels healthy, looks healthy and I loved the shampoo, conditioner, brush, stain remover and even the protective gel smelled great. Love the color but...I love the color into my hair, it did really covers my gray hair but the issue here was... my hair is very stiff and dry after dying. This is not my first time to do a home hair dying. Well, I colored my hair last night with this product. Then I noticed my hair after drying is very stiff and feel rough.
