poor customer serviceI'm writing this review on the customer service experience I had with esalon. I'm actually upset not to be able to use their products as they were very nice. I ordered my first product in May and was so happy with the results I signed up for the automatic plan. I received an email that my color was shipped June 17th & would receive updated shipping info 1-3 days later. When I did not, I reached out and was told "We are working very hard to ensure your order arrives as quickly and safely as possible. Due to a high volume of orders, carriers are experiencing difficulties updating their tracking information. We can confirm your order has been shipped on June 17, and should be delivered by July 1 latest. But please rest assured, your order can very well arrive anytime now. Unfortunately, delivery times are beyond our control as our carriers operate independently." I received an email June 30 asking "have you received your order." I found this odd since I was told July 1. As suggested by the email, I contacted customer service via the 1800 number. The woman was unapologetic after finding the last movement on my order was June 25th. So I said, I think I need to cancel my order. At this point she said ok, said I would receive an email and hung up. The email was minus the shipping - for an item I did not receive. So, I once again wrote customer service and explained the situation. Their response was, "Thank you for reaching out. Unfortunately we do not refund for shipping you can see our return policy here.." When I explained I never received the product and would be forced to dispute with my CC and leave a review - he replied, "Thank you for your reply. Please proceed how you feel necessary." Hot roots!Since the salons are closed I thought I would try to do cover my grays that are coming in. I get my hair dyed my natural medium brown color. When it grows out you can only see the new grays because my stylist matches my color so, so perfectly. I worried that the eSalon color might come out too dark, if anything, but I wanted to get rid of my grays. I followed the instructions and I ended up with hot roots. I have an inch of light copper brown roots and don’t get it. You get can get hot roots when lightning your hair. I had them once when using box dye to lighten my hair years ago but I am not lighting my hair these days. I sent in a picture and detailed message. I turned off my subscription and they haven’t responded yet and if they do, I won’t accept a new formula to fix my hair. I’m sure there are happy customers who ended up loving their color, but I am not one of them. I will have to wait for my stylist to open up and she is will probably want to wring my neck. On a positive note, the color is shiny and my hair doesn’t feel like straw as some of the other reviews stated. Update: To the response team: No, nobody ever contacted me, the color expert didn’t ever reach out. I immediately sent in a ‘after’ picture and message and nobody contacted me. I turned off my subscription and that was that. Nobody ever gave me an explanation as to why my hair came out light brown with hot roots when I wanted a neutral medium brown, my natural color. 0 of 0 people found this review helpful. Did you? |

Didn't seem to work very wellI chose medium blonde, which seemed very accurate for my hair color, and copper tones, which I've always wanted to try. Little darker than expected but great product.This is a little darker than I anticipated however this is a great product. It goes on easy, rinsed our easily and left my hair soft and undamaged. Aaack!I was so excited to get this shipment. I waited until I had sufficient time so I wouldn't need to rush. Loved the instructions and the sticker to post them on the mirror (and then in the shower). I appreciated the stain protector and wipe for afterwards (I didn't use the latter). I thought the color would be great.................but it's not! The grays around my face are still there, although maybe a little less noticeable and even though I was super diligent about applying the root color in the back, it's still a dark brown..........and the red is what many OTC kits refer to as Copper Penny! It's hideous and I hate it. The overall color coverage is only meh......and I followed the instructions to the letter. Needless to say, I'm very disappointed and probably won't purchase this again. Unless the coverage lasts more than two weeks (the gray coverage is already not great), I definitely won't purchase again OR recommend to others. 0 of 0 people found this review helpful. Did you? |

Shipping date is not accurateI am new using this company. I used to pay a lot of money on hair salons so when I heard and researched esalon I gave them a try. My first order came perfect and I have to say I really love it. After receiving my first order I scheduled my plan with shipping date June 1st. Since I didn't heard nothing about shipping status I sent an email and the response was that shipment takes 7-10 days, they charged my credit card on June 1st, but I need to wait almost 2 weeks for my order. I color my roots every 4 weeks and I was expecting to receive my order on time (like 3 days after my shipping date) but that would not happen. My roots are due for color and I am so dissapointed with this company. If I had known this, I would have scheduled an earlier shipping date.
