DisappointedI was so excited to get my new color. I have had trouble in the past with my grey hairs turning pink instead of auburn, so I thought I would give this a try. I followed the directions on top of already coloring my own hair fir the last 30+ years and it didn’t turn my grey hair pink but it barely covered my grey hair. DISAPPOINTEDFirst of all, I really like how gentle the product feels on my hair-the color, and the shampoo and conditioner do not feel harsh at all. I also don't feel the need to add an extra intensified hair conditioner just because I've colored my hair. I changed the formula from a demi-permanent formula to a permanent one and changed the color (I thought)-requesting a little more gold and mahogany. I was hoping that it was going to be a darker and richer color. Instead it barely looked as though I had even colored my hair, except for the covering the gray (which is a good thing). However, I noticed that I was sent a 20 volume developer instead of 10 like the last time, which would have made it more rich and darker looking. MY FIRST TIME: "Custom" Blonde. SO DISAPPOINTED!!I decided to try eSalon because my daughter kept telling me about how harsh the "cheap" Revlon and/or Loreal haircolor I used was and how I would ruin my hair. So when I saw the ad and reviews for eSalon, it sounded perfect. Answering the questions with colorist (c ompleting questionnaire) I explained that I needed to cover my white/gray roots, and came up with "Medium/Golden Blonde" which was the closest to my current hair color (or so I thought). I was so excited to think that I wouldn't have to keep changing brands and colors, trying to achieve a certain look. I was so sure I'd be doing this forever; I even Splurged and bought the Color Tools kit with the bowl, brush and hair clips. And I also, purchased the Protective Cape and the Hair Tint Rinse. What happened after carefully watching the videos and following the steps to color my roots was: My Gray hair turned out a dark, Reddish-Brown and my White hair is almost Orange! My husband had a good laugh and I cried. Not only is the color awful, but all of my hair feels So dry. I am honestly really shocked! I expected the results to be so much better. Especially the dry hair result, even with the "cheap stuff " my hair feels nice right after coloring. Obviously this is not the hair color for me. It breaks my heart. Good price at first then was way more $.Color faded fast, and didn’t cover grey for long at all. Like I said it’s a good price to lure you in then, way too expensive. Could never get the color right for me either. I just decided to have it professionally done, and I’m HAPPY with the color and everything! I’ll leave my coloring to the professionals. Cape and dye kit worked great... Oh and my hair was not shiny at all. Ordered twice, just to make sure it wasn’t something I did, but got same results. 0 of 0 people found this review helpful. PRICE JUST KEEPS GOING UP!i LIKED THIS SYSTEM WHEN THE PRICE WAS REASONABLE - NOW IT SEEMS EVERY ORDER HAS A PRICE INCREASE. I CAN GET THE SAME COLOR COMMERCIALLY FOR ABOUT HALF THE COST AND ITS FINE - GOOD COLOR, LASTS JUST AS LONG, DONT HAVE TO PAY SHIPPING.
