ColorI really liked how the product didn't really smell and since I'm a stylist myself I have smelled some strong colors. I love the shampoo and conditioner. Color setIm impressed with how much longer my hair color lasts as compared to the store bought boxed color i used to purchase. The tone is a lot less brassy (I'm a redhead) and looks much more natural. Im on my 3rd or 4th kit n still trying to perfect my personal color preference as well as application process as its always turning out a little too dark for me. But i sincerely believe thats because MAYBE I'm not doing it applying it perfectly correctly yet. Its a learning curve. Mahogany redI don’t color my hair often since I have little gray. And when I do, I dye it myself at home (typically soft black). My 50th birthday is coming up so I wanted to have a big change and go with mahogany red. I felt that my best results would be to have my hair colored professionally. And thus I came to eStudio Color Studio. My experience over all was pleasant and welcoming. The salon is beautifully appointed and clean. My colorist was polite, professional and quite helpful. We discussed my wishes and she explained that she couldn’t give me a lighter shade of red given my dark base. I told her that this was perfect as I wanted a dark shade of red. I showed her some internet pics and said that I wanted “Mahogany Red”. After two hours of processing, shampooing and styling, I was ready for my results. My hair looked beautiful, shinny and nicely styled but it wasn’t RED! My hair looks soft black which, I could have done myself at home!! 😩 I was tired and hungry at that point and the only thing that I managed to say is that it looked too dark. The colorist said that I could go back and get a “light set” at my next appointment which may give me more of a red hue. My mom was with me at the appointment and on our way out she said “I heard you ask for Mahogany Red but I just don’t see it, maybe in the sunlight??!” But no, not in the sunlight either. And to add insult to injury, we ended up having to pay $7.00 for parking, even after the validation!!! ☹️ 0 of 0 people found this review helpful. Did you? |

Purple tone - no purple at allOrdered the purple toned hair color. Did a test strip and loved it - purple color came through and looked great after rinsing and drying it. Sticky/ waxy residue is extremely frustratingI have been using e-salon for over a year now. I really like the custom color; I have medium, ashy, brown hair that tends to become brassy with store-bought hair color so when the e-salon colorist added enough ash in my second order the color was almost identical to my natural hair avoiding undesired brassiness and giving me soft and shiny hair. The gray coverage is also excellent (I am in my early 30's but have had grays since 19 so I know the deal!). Anyway, for all these reasons I put up with a big inconvenience: having to wash my hair at least 5-6 times to get the sticky/waxy residue off my hair. I initially contacted customer service and they suggested to use bicarbonate and to rub my hair with some of the product left in the bottle immediately before washing my hair but that only reduced the # of washes from 7-8 to, as I said, 5-6 times. It has become extremely frustrating to spend so much time, effort, shampoo and water just to color my hair (especially during this time of the year where it grows like crazy) so it does not make sense for me to continue using it as much as I like the other features. I also wonder if the color would stay even longer if I didn't have to wash my hair that many times the first day I apply the color. 0 of 0 people found this review helpful. Did you? |
