Whats the point of a custom service?I explicitly mentioned my thick hair and virgin roots. I got the package and it wasnt enough for my whole head (this service is geared towards people with thinner and lighter hair apparently). I also followed their directions. I have been box dyieing my hair for years. This is the ONLY time I have ever gotten light roots like a damn band. And it did nothing to my lower hair. Medium brown came out blackI was trying to go from a blonde shade to a medium brown which is similar to my natural color. They gave me a color tint to fill my hair before dying it, which I did. I don't know how this happened, but the dye made my hair completely black. I emailed esalon and left a note for my colorist, but didn't receive much support other than use a clarifying shampoo or a color corrector. I did end up using a color corrector and now there are some hollow spots in my hair, but it is mostly brown. Overall I'm really disappointed with the lack of support from this company. Long time subscriber, long time loverI have been a subscriber to eSalon since 2014 and have coaxed several friends to go onboard. We love it! It is convenient and the service is top notch. I have very little gray (sporadic hairs at my temple) and match my hair color. The color is a perfect match and I can get several uses out of one set. That fact, makes my specialized color a bargain and not a splurge. I was impressed when my colorist reached out and had me update my profile, since it had been a long time since subscribing. Yes, some things have changed...I'm rocking my curls, I am using natural products and still only covering minimal grays, the recommendation was for a much more hair healthy semi-permanent hair color and an option eSalon now offers. Changed my previous review which was excellent to 2 starsI have read the other comments and the members who have been using your product for years seem to be disappointed as I am. This new formula leaves red highlights and fades as well as doesn't cover the greys. Please go back to the old formula. I use to get compliments all the time about the color and the shine and since you've switched I have not heard any comments. This new dye formula isn't even close to how good the dye was before you switched. They have sent me free dye to try and make the color better but it still isn't as dark or as shiny as with the old dye formula. I hope you switch back to where ever you were getting your dye product or formula. People didn't even know I dyed my hair and when I told them they wanted to know what kind I used. That doesn't happen now. I have been a member since 2015 at least and it's a shame the changes your making. You had a great product and it made it worth spending the money and now the only difference is that it still doesn't damage the hair quite as much as the store box brands. The color is dull, doesn't cover greys well and washes out quickly as well as leaves awful red highlights for those of us with dark brown hair. Please switch back to what ever kind you were using before. Finally got the darker color I was looking for but it fades and doesn't cover greys like it use to. Please switch back to the old formula.
