Happy but not estacticI love the color. Just what I was looking for. The only problem it still did not cover my grays great on my sides of my face.. Ruined my hairSo unhappy, ordered a light brown mahogany copper colour, my hair was a bright copper beforehand. Turned it a dark red/brown, mucky looking. Devastated as it took so long to get my hair to that shade and now it's ruined and will cost me more money to fix. Would give zero stars if I could. Even the hair colour in the bottle was dark purple, I rechecked the colour over and over and all said "light brown mahogany/copper. * AVOID AVOID AVOID * Edit to reply: No I haven't been helped or contacted by anyone. HindsightI was hesitant to try your product although I have heard amazing reviews from podcasters. I haven't tried to color my hair at home in 25 years. I had a terrible result. But I take partial responsibility but also found the directions poorly done. First mistake, when asking "for your natural color hair", I completed the color choice chart, my natural color's lightest choice was SO dark that I bumped my self up to the least blondest of what seemed the right color. * I think in doing this I choose too light of a bleach and the results were penny copper. ** It was pretty horrifying. Another error is I felt like there was so much mixture that I didn't need to mix it all and put it all on my head. So I left some back. ** I should have mixed it all and only used what I needed. (this could be stated in the directions too) The final big misunderstanding came with the application. I was given a brush and instructions to choose to use the brush or apply directly to the hair. There was no further instruction as to why I would choose one over the other. Which tool is best for my desired results and how to use the brush tool. No changeI was so excited to get my color and try it out, but after I went through the whole process, there was literally no change at all on my hair. The roots were still grayish and the overall color didn’t change at all. It’s frustrating because I don’t want to over process my hair, so I’ll have to wait 8 more weeks before I try to fix it. Color ChangesThe first order was a beautiful color and lasted about 8 weeks. The last 3 orders have been so inconsistent with my first order. I am very disappointed in the results. One order came in so dark, and the following order was so light (I'm glad we were too busy to do my hair color for a while, so I had both kits at home) my husband had to mix the two to get a color close to my first order. My latest kit is so light, I don't even want to use it. Inconsistency will lose me. I sent a message to customer service today, so we will see how they will correct the issue. ***Changed my rating on 5/14/2022 I changed my rating from a 2 star to a 5 star! I'm all about customer service and eSalon rates very high with me. As you can see from my comments above, I was not satisfied with the product, but eSalon jumped on my complaint and changed my color per my instructions. While I was waiting on my new shipment, we decided to use up the last kit. HOWEVER, my husband changed his method. (I'm not sure whether we missed anything in the instructions, but here is the change.) After my husband shook the color "vigorously" he let it sit for about 10 minutes. Then shook the product again. The color darkened up which was similar to our first shipment. He applied it and I just showed him and we are SOOOO happy with the results. Better than ExpectedThis is my first time using this, and I had never dyed my hair before, so I was a bit apprehensive, especially having coily (4c) hair, but I took the jump because I didn't want to use box dye.
