Dang, So Hair Dye Isn't All the SameI thought yeah ok, this is just some regular old hair dye that they supposedly customize to fit. Cute - take a pic, answer questions, WAAALA. Admittedly, I let 2 shipments sit before I tried it. I was game cause I got tired of trying to match colors & developers on my own. The name brand boxed colors, ended up NOT delivering the color I wanted on top of NOT covering grays. Plus, I no longer live close by my hairstylist---I'm shell shocked from bad experiences w/others, so it's hard to keep my color up --- until now. WOW!!! I'm mad @ myself for waiting to use my custom color! After a long awaited visit to my stylist - weeks later the grays were back & it was personal this time lol. What the heck, try the eSalon and hope it covers and doesn't over or under process my hair. I have unrelaxed black natural hair and that normally adds to the dying woes. I'm happy to say NOT this time. eSalon did the darn thing! Color is what I want AND my grays are covered AFTER 2 to 3 washes (lol that was my test). Hope others have similar experiences if you follow the directions and if your hair is in a healthy state (which makes a difference). Custom hair colorHi, I really like the quality of the hair coloring. This is second time I have used this shade. As I found in the first coloring it is a very nice color however too red for me. Many dyes make the reddish tones in my natural shade more pronounced. When I was younger my preferred shade was a honey blond. Now that I am older that shade does not compliment my complexion and washes me out. Unfortunately disappointedI'm not sure how this went wrong. I ordered a darkest brown color for my hair, which is mostly already overall a dyed darker shade of brown. I applied color to roots as instructed and then waited the given time, later applied the color to my ends and waited..Followed after rinsing instruction. I couldn't tell till my hair was dried that the parts that had faded from my old color from a few months ago were not even darker (I naturally darker brown hair with ash blonde streaks, so when color fades, I've noticed that streaked area tends to do so first). One of the reasons I wanted this product regularly was to do my roots of course, but also at this time I wanted to cover that streaked area, from time to time into a darker shade, a shade of darkest brown.. It wound up a medium kind of mousey brown at best on that area. Very little change whatsoever, if at all. Love the color choice.Since I started getting my color from eSalon I have had many compliments on my hair. The color is not one dimensional and after coloring it isn't obvious that I just dyed my hair and I do wait six weeks. So natural! I love it!I rarely write reviews, but I just had to this time! I was not dying my hair for years, so sadly I didn't appreciate my eSalon hair color the first time round :-( I've decided to dye my hair before my holidays, but I run out of time to buy from eSalon and went for the high street one (semi-permanent, so luckily it won't last!). Now I can understand the difference between them!!! Lessons learned! I WILL NEVER DO THAT AGAIN! After using eSalon hair dye my hair looked so natural, that I thought it wasn't enough. Don't get me wrong, they had a lovely, rich, shiny tone, just not that obvious 'IN YOUR FACE' kind of tone! Now I know it was a good thing.
