Great alternative to the salon!I've been using this color over a couple years & I love it. I don't have the time or the money to hit the salon every month. I can do this myself whenever I need to. The good and the badI'll start with the positives-- I loved having a stylist custom design my hair color for me. The packing was beautiful (and personalized-- so very fun!) and shipping was extremely convenient. The price was right for at-home color that promised salon results. My color did end up matching its promised shade (dark ash brown), so I was pleased with the outcome. Normally, any dark hair dye immediately turns my hair black, but that was not the case with this product. Additionally, my color was multi dimensional and left my hair with a nice shine. However, this is the strongest smelling dye I have ever used. I could barely breathe while waiting for it to dry because the chemical smell was so overwhelming. Additionally, it really dried out both my hair and my scalp; this does not normally happen to me with boxed color or at the salon. While the color was a perfect match to the promised shade, it quickly washed out and faded-- so much so that you can no longer tell that I ever dyed it. I was disappointed with the lack of longevity and the dryness that resulted from this color, especially when compared to other boxed dyes. Overall, I don't regret this purchase as it did provide about 2 weeks of lovely color. Never store bought againThis was by far the scariest yet ended up being the best decision - ordering my hair color from esalon. It lasts longer, ( I feel kinda like a pro when my box arrives ) and i never have to think, "oh dear, i forgot my dye at the store". every 7 weeks it just shows up. I pay far less annually compared to a store bought product. The store bought, I would have to do every 5 or 6 weeks. Just not my colorOK you changed my color from light brown because it was leaving my hair a red color. Now it is darker brown and the red is darker. So, my hair is going from light brown to darker red and brown. What up?? Only will try to get this right one more time and that is it. This is ridiculous .
