The process and applications was great but color was wrongI loved the package and the quick time frame on which it was delivered. Directions were easy to understand and the personal touches were nice as well. Everything I needed was there. The application was easy for a DIY product and not a lot of mess. As I started putting the color in after a while I noticed it wasn't lightening as I expected. The color in the bottle looked good before and after mixing. My only complaint is that I didn't get the color I wanted or expected which I wouldn't say is a big deal based off everything else but that was the purpose for the purchase. I would rate a 5 If I got the right color or if I felt that the picture I included and the notations to my stylist were really taken into consideration before shipping my product. Overall my hair feels healthy, looks healthy and I loved the shampoo, conditioner, brush, stain remover and even the protective gel smelled great. Love the color but...I love the color into my hair, it did really covers my gray hair but the issue here was... my hair is very stiff and dry after dying. This is not my first time to do a home hair dying. Well, I colored my hair last night with this product. Then I noticed my hair after drying is very stiff and feel rough. Very strong, too darkI requested Light ash brown. My prior experience with hair color, this is what I have been using. I had been having trouble with it turning auburn within 2 or 3 weeks so that is why I tried your product. First, it is a very strong product. I only left it on for 25 minutes and when i rinsed it off my hair felt very dry, After the cream rinse it felt better but when I looked in the mirror I was very surprised. My hair was almost balckish brown. Even the next week, friends asked, "What were you thinking? You have such fair skin. That color is way too dark." But its time soon again to color and I cant go through that dark color for light ash brown again. I also would never had signed up if I had know you set it up on a subscription. Now I have a box that cost me way too much that I would never use. I also tried to call twice, waited many minutes on hold, and then was told to leave a message. Never got a call back. The good and the badI'll start with the positives-- I loved having a stylist custom design my hair color for me. The packing was beautiful (and personalized-- so very fun!) and shipping was extremely convenient. The price was right for at-home color that promised salon results. My color did end up matching its promised shade (dark ash brown), so I was pleased with the outcome. Normally, any dark hair dye immediately turns my hair black, but that was not the case with this product. Additionally, my color was multi dimensional and left my hair with a nice shine. However, this is the strongest smelling dye I have ever used. I could barely breathe while waiting for it to dry because the chemical smell was so overwhelming. Additionally, it really dried out both my hair and my scalp; this does not normally happen to me with boxed color or at the salon. While the color was a perfect match to the promised shade, it quickly washed out and faded-- so much so that you can no longer tell that I ever dyed it. I was disappointed with the lack of longevity and the dryness that resulted from this color, especially when compared to other boxed dyes. Overall, I don't regret this purchase as it did provide about 2 weeks of lovely color. Endless optionsI provided my information and was provided two color options. One was much darker than I would like, but I LOVE the second option. I provided notes to the colorist and they continued to develop a color that was just right for me. So, if your not pleased with your first order continue to let them know so they can make adjustments. ITS WORTH IT. their colors are the best in-home products EVER. Review on the developerJust colored my hair for the first time using eSalon. This is a review just on the developer. It was so strong I could hardly breathe. Seriously wow!!! I've been coloring my own hair for 20 years, and never have I experienced such a strong overwhelming chemical type of burning, in my lungs when I tried to breathe.
