High quality dye, insanely strong smell, slightly off colorI tried out eSalon on a whim and I absolutely love the fact my hair actually took the dye. I have had a lot of trouble getting my hair to take dye before so I am very happy with how well the dye took. However, the color I chose, darkest black - ash, just turned out a matte black color. I was really looking for a raven blue black color, where it looks black but in bright light it is a brilliant blue color. The process of dying my hair was pretty simple. My hair goes beyond my shoulders so I had to use two bottles to get full coverage. The dye itself has an insanely strong smell and caused my eyes to water terribly. I couldn't hold my hair out in front of my face to see if I had covered the ends due to the strong smell. Instead I had to do everything behind my head and even then I was teary throughout the application. I strongly advise to use this dye outside or somewhere very well ventilated, a bathroom fan will not suffice. Washing out the dye will take quite a while as well, but it is worth the effort. wow!I just want to say how amazed I am with the colour I achieved with the esalon colour set. I ordered it ages ago (march?) but was building up courage to use it! Today is the day. The application was easy- great step by step instructions, the shampoo and conditioner sachets are great however please please please can you work on the sachets themselves? They're probably most of the time opened in the shower where hands are wet or a bit slimy from taking the gloves off and I ripped the conditioner sachet and had the smallest hole ever to squeeze the conditioner out (teeth are not working here either), so needed to really struggle to get the conditioner out :D this would be my only suggestion. Also, do you do other size gloves? Lovely light titianThis color came out more light titian than golden blonde, I guess that's b/c there's still a good bit of auburn in among the white. Anyway, it is lovely, exactly what I wanted. Color is Great, but hard to rinse outI love the color, it covers the gray well after my new instructions had me leave on longer. I’m doing roots only & works great with my existing color (from salon). The only downfall is that when it’s time to rinse out, the product gets very gummy and I have a very hard time getting it out (worse this time than previously). I rinsed for 5 minutes, gave up and added shampoo. Rinsed, conditioned & towel dried; only to discover weird gummy feeling still in my hair! Got more shampoo & tried again. Color irreversibly wrong and would not refundI ordered a color that was lighter than my natural hair. The colorist suggested a different shade that ended up being darker than my hair. Never get the same color twiceWhen I first started the color was really nice and gradually kept getting darker. I sent pictures and emails and by the 3 rd time decided if they can't mix the right ingredients together to produce the first results its not worth it. Also your hair really does dry out, the products are very disappointing for the price, better to go to the salon and get what you pay for!
