New branding is awfulLet me preface this review by saying that I love esalon. I have been a customer since 2013 and I think the concept and product is amazing! In the past I had so much trouble finding a brand that worked and didn't dry out my hair or product very inconsistent results. My color is spot on every time, my hair is in great condition and I get many compliments on the color. Ok, now for my critique: I just broke into my newest color order and was shocked to see that the packaging/branding has changed. I am sorry about this but it is awful. It looks very dated, the color scheme is unattractive, and there is now a plastic sleeve that makes me think that you are not considering the environment. I am not sure what precipitated this change, I thought the previous packaging was great - very contemporary. If someone has bought the company and you can no longer use the previous branding colors/design, please redesign it. It's kind of depressing. Flat colour, faded in less than a weekThe colour is at least a shade too dark for me. It covers all the natural brown tone in my hair, just a monotone black. My color is WAYYY Off from what I ordered!The product was very nice and well presented when I opened. The application of the color was very simple and not complicated at all, the smell also wasn’t as bad as I thought. Everything was going super as I was ringing out dye my hair felt still in great condition, but the thing that really made everything pointless to me was when I saw my color in the mirror. The color I ordered was a dark BROWN with warm undertones to it, but the color I seen in the mirror was no where near the color I ordered it was almost completely BLACK with the slightest red tint that only visble in the sun if you really look. I am completely pissed by this considering that I had good expectations for this product. Yeah my hair is still in good condition but the whole point of esalon is to help give you the color you want not something that’s COMPLETELY DIFFERENT! Saved my hairThe 2 color system, one for roots and one for ends, was exactly what i needed to get my hair the same color from roots tp tip and the overall color is amazing. It looks so natural and isnt drying or breaking. My colourist did a wonderful job picking my custom color and i cant wait to continue using this product.
