First timeTried my first time w/Esalon. I dye my own hair. #1, the odor of amonia was very strong (choking strong). I found this to be odd considering store bought brands don't have such an odor. The color was precise & covered my grey. #2, I then thought with the shipping & purchase costs, it was way higher than what i normally spend. I can purchase dye for $5 when i do it myself. So, why do i want to spend up to $30? When i called to cancel my membership the gal i spoke to was very nice, understanding & professional. She offered me one free shipment in a different shade to try once more. Will be delivered soon. I do not believe i will continue with my membership merely for the cost. It also dried the heck out of my hair. Perhaps it is just the type of hair i have bcuz my hair is dry to begin with. However, their Customer Service is wonderful! I would recommend eSalon for people who regularly have their hair professionally dyed. Then, you would save money. After many uses of this product, my first issueI've used esalon color for several years now, and I've been happy, until this time. Seems like 2 things changed, for the worse- small things, but they made a difference: 1) applicator bottle was too stiff to squeeze with one hand. I don't have enough hands to be using two to apply the product! 2) color & developer took forever to mix, and I had to keep re-shaking the bottle during application. It didn't cover my roots as well as usual either, I think because it wasn't properly mixed. If the color was not thoroughly mixed prior to application, it would not be able to give the same coverage it typically would. We recommend mixing and applying color with a bowl and brush. Mixing in a bowl allows you to ensure that all of the product is thoroughly mixed before applying, and applying with a tint brush helps with saturation and precision, which are both very important for the coverage you receive and to prevent banding (bands are created where color is overlapped). Color is too dark, too redThe color is too dark, too red. I made a request 9 days ago about a color change and have not received any feedback. Not happy with the color or the customer service.
