Great color but harshThe fact that I can have a custom color just for me is amazing. The choices are great and the customer service is, too. There's a real human being on the other end, helping you choose just the right shade. I love the kit - the gloves are sturdy, the stain remover works well, the instructions are easy to follow. However, this dye has a ridiculously strong ammonia smell that takes your breath away and doesn't last on my hair any longer than any store bought product I've tried. In fact, other brands leave my hair feeling softer and healthier than eSalon. The shampoo and conditioner feel very basic and cheap and do nothing except wash out the dye. I very much wanted to love this product but I just don't. For about the same price, or even cheaper, I can use store bought products that will leave my hair feeling less like straw and smell far better. 29 of 32 people found this review helpful. Did you? |

Not quite salon quality but...This color is great but after about 4 weeks, gets a little brassy (even though I use an ash tone). That’s about The time I need to retouch it again anyway. DisappointedVery Disappointed.. I sent another email after the one below and it’s not posted on my account.... I told you I was disappointed that my grey was not only not covered it turned greenish color.. I cancelled my future deliveries and never got a reply to this either.. I have a box of dye that has same dye mixture as last box.. that turned my hair greenish color I would like a credit .. I liked color was lighter than what I had.. Not black Did my color, my hair was lighter at roots ..maybe I need to figure it out is different color leave on longer or make a wider dye application at roots. Grey not totally covered.. I wrote a email got no reply.. I only spoke to colorist when first box needed to be adjusted.. Second color no one responded.. very disappointed .. ASIANS SHOULD READ THISI had already lightened my hair, and I was trying to turn the lightened strands purple. The colorist talked me out of a ligher shade (which i know from experience I need). So dissappointedI ordered a color called "intense copper" and filled out the questionnaire completely honestly. I even included photos of my hair so the colorist could make any professional decisions. The product showed up, packaged nicely and very cute. I followed the dying instructions to a tee and ended up with slightly warm dark brown hair. Not anything like I wanted. Not anything like the picture. The drug store box dyes I have tried give me a better color and for much less money. I am so sad, I truly thought I could get the more vibrant shade of copper that I can never find at the store. Disappointing, leaves hair waxyI had high hopes for using this product and the color turned out good, however cannot get past the waxy outcome. I used this product yesterday and will never use again. The shampoo that came with this did nothing. It just was not washing out. I used my Biologe shampoo and after two more deep washes I thought I got it out. I had to open my eyes to find the shampoo (as I wasn’t expecting to need it) and when the water ran in my face the product was too...I ended up with irritated eyes even today. After three shampoos I thought I was good, however it still isn’t washed out and still feels waxy. I had to go to the salon today to ask for help, and they recommended a clarifying shampoo to try to remove the residue it has left on my hair, which has cost me more money now. It also left a waxy feeling on my shower floor (have never had this before!). I hope this doesn’t damage my hair and have learned to just stay with the salon for the best outcome.
