Love itThe colour really brought out my skin tone, highlighted my eye colour and made me look I dare say younger. I'm really happy that it covered all my gray hair. The only problem I had was the smell of the second bottle was so strong that my eyes kept tearing up, and I couldn't see a thing. 3 months / boxes in and colour still incorrectI wanted to love esalon. I usually colour my roots with a level 4 box dye mixed with a tiny bit of level 3 to cover the greys and I was tired of having to mix it myself every month. I included lots of pictures and information with my order but the colour (labelled “dark brown”) arrived about 4 shades too light and it looked truly terrible. I had to pay hairdresser to fix it. I explained it was too light and hoped the second box would be better. It was better but still too light. Third box, still too light. My colour is supposedly “darkest brown with ash” but it looks like a medium brown with golden reflections and will only get warmer and lighter as it fades! Like I said, I want to love esalon. I love the idea. But the execution is extremely frustrating and expensive! If the formula is wrong are you expected to walk around with stripy roots or request a free box until they get it right? The customer service are great and I’m sure the colourists are too but the formula itself just seems so light and fast fading compared to all other “professional” hair colour. If you feel you have been losing significantly more than this, you may have had an allergic reaction. We have reached out to you via email with more details on next steps and how we can help get this resolved for you. In the future, we recommend performing a skin allergy test 48 hours before each hair color application. Poor Grey CoverageI’ve been emailing company for help with adjustment to my hair color because formula is just not covering greys. This last shipment was the worst. I WAS SCARED , MY SON WAS TEASINGHad a conversation with my colorist she recommended a color that was not my choice. She said it would look fabulous. I explained to her my struggles of finding a stylist who knew how to use color properly. Mentioning that I knew that was something she did to match the color. You see my hair for some reason seems to go towards orange or red which I do not like on me. Received my shipment took 2 weeks to finally get my courage to do it to myself. As I massaged as instructed and noticed the color looked on the orange/red. I started to have an anxiety attack even my son who is my ride or die. Started teasing me about the orange color. I just stayed calm initially then after sometime I saw RED. Son teasing me again. As concerned as I was I did recall there were times when my stylist put the color in and it looked as if it was red/orange but she promised it would match. I held onto that mustard seed faith and told my son I have to wait till after rinse wash and dry to see the true color and I closed my eyes the whole time . I started blow drying it still orange/red. Blowed dryer it more.. than stopped looking. I used the techniques that you had on YouTube... it was easy peasy!! Last but not least the color was spot on !!
