Exceeded Expectations!I have been highlighting, coloring, bayalaging, you name it, to my hair for the past 30 years all in the attempts to turn my dirty blonde into a real blonde. This has always been done by someone else, typically in a salon, and by a family friend in my early 20's. Over the past several years I have not been able to achieve the same blonde as in my 30's. I still don't know the reason for this: change of colorists, changes in my hair, who knows. What I do know is that I've been a bit underwhelmed by the salon lately, and with Covid, I thought now was the perfect time to try it myself. What is the worst that can happen? Sure, I can turn my hair orange, but only my husband and kids see me right now! So I took the plunge. Wow. I am so happy. I really never had doubts about the quality of the product, but rather I had doubts about my own ability to execute. However, with all the instructions, how-to videos, etc, I made it happen! It was a 2 step-process for me: Last night I colored my roots with The Medium blond color customized for me. Overall it was a bit darker than I expected and wanted, but it really looked nice and very natural. Then this morning I added the Light Kit. I have dimension now! It looks just as good as when I go to the salon now. Possibly even better. I am ecstatic. Nice productThe product and directions were all great and easy to follow! And I loved that it didn’t make my head feel itchy like it always does even after going to the salon. The only negative thing is that it has faded. I dyed my hair 3 weeks ago and it has already faded. I’m thinking it probably should have been left on longer. First Time to Color My HairI have always gone to a salon to have color put on my "white" roots. I'm 70 years old and with the Corona Virus I had no choice but to dive in. After reading all the reviews on Facebook and the eSalon site, I ordered my color...I was hoping it was correct. Hard to match on a computer screen. I consulted my own hairdresser trying to get the correct color match but found she was very negative that I was considering a boxed color. She felt I would ruin my hair and the result could be not what I wanted. I'm in NY and have no idea when we'll be even somewhat back to normal or a salon will open. I had to do it. Powder and root spray were not my answer after 7 weeks. I usually go every 3-4 weeks for color. My hubby helped me with the back of my short hair. I have to say I was very pleased with the result. We did a good job with the help of eSalon and the ease of use of their product. They took me step-by-step and the video's helped. My only disappointment was that it didn't cover all the grays even with my knowing and advising eSalon that my hair is difficult to color as the gray doesn't want to absorb color. I'll consult with my eSalon colorist, Celine, before I reorder. Maybe she will have a suggestion for my next order. Overall I am pleasedThe pros are; the color went on great, no lines or blotchy spots and had a nice shine after. The cons are; it left my light ash hair pretty brassy.
