Two Shades Darker...........Now what do I do?I have been touching up my own roots in between professional hair coloring for 10 years. According to my colorist, I have become great at it. With salons in my area of California closed since March 12th, I felt I needed to do more than touch up my color. I filled out everything on eSalon and even sent them pictures taken in great light that perfectly captured my color. I am a professional who is blessed enough to still have a job and am on video calls all day with a professional camera and lighting that are often my close up. My hair came out 2 shades darker! This is really a problem for me as I have gray roots on the crown of my head as well as below my temples. Now they will show in a few days given the dramatic contrast. And. I have no alternative but to maintain this terribly too dark color until professional salons open again. It is really upsetting to me and I have no idea how such a dramatic mistake could be made. I don't know the point of sending in a picture if they are going to mix something so dramatically different. When I filled out the feedback form, they did reply immediately with an offer for free color and suggestions to use either a clarifying shampoo or a color stripper which shows they are completely insensitive to the situation. Many of us live in areas where we cannot get either color or a cut. How can you suggest people use damaging processes to correct your huge mistake when who knows when they will be able to get their roots cut off? I am very surprised others have had such good results and mine are so bad. Perhaps a new employee? Whatever it was, I am now faced with endless touch ups every two weeks at minimum to maintain this way too dark hair for my skin color until professional salons open to help me solve the problem. 0 of 0 people found this review helpful. Brassy is bad :(I wrote to my colorist, “beware I tend to get very brassy.” I am naturally a dishwater blonde, but I typically got heavy ashy blonde highlights every 6 weeks. I was very excited to try this home color service. I’ve never colored my hair from home before. I was looking forward to saving time, money AND being able to color from home during the pandemic..... The marketing of the product is fantastic and it was easy to use. Once I finished and dried my hair the color looked terrible, it is more of an dark brassy orange. When I saw a friend she asked if I’ve been washing my hair in iron water.
