I agree about the changes not doing well for gray coverageUntil I saw the other recent reviews, I thought my gray was starting to be persistent on their own. I absolutely agree that now, after their color formula changes and after only 2 weeks, my grays come in strong. I usually color every 3 weeks. The grays that come in after 3 weeks with the previous formula were not as obvious as the grays that are now showing after just 2 weeks. What a waste of money!I ordered a second box, thinking I did something wrong because the 1st time the color didn't stay in at all. I did follow all instructions, even had my husband help me the 2nd time! STILL NO COLOR. DisappointedTurned out to be a level 1 black on the middle and ends of my hair. The goal was an overall level 5 chocolate brown. There should have been a protein filler added to my box so the porous areas of my hair(mainly ends) did not process so dark. Hated colorHonestly I hated the color I got-I also did not know your color was only meant for roots vs an all over color and if I wanted to ever go lighter it wasn’t possible. OMGI am a natural red head and have heard all my life that their wasn’t a salon who could replicate my color. I am in my mid thirties and have noticed some gray that I wanted to cover. However, I actually like my natural shade and did not want anything else. I went to a salon twice about 2 years ago. The color was nice but not what I was hoping for. Not to mention it costs a fortune. I am a mom to 2 kids so resources can be tight at times. I came across esalon and boy am I glad. I kid you not, the shade is the exact match of my natural shade and it covered all of my grays. I am way more satisfied with my at home color treatment than I ever was with my salon visit. The packaging was so cute and customized. The instructions were easy to follow especially for someone as hair challenged as myself.
