Not the color I had beforeFirst and second time I went into Esalon I left with the biggest smile on my face because my hair was bright red just the way I wanted it. Third time my hair looked dark and i told her not to change a thing. In July I did my first mail order and explain that I wanted my hair like the first and second time. Well my kit arrived and I went to color my hair only to be disappointed again. Even darker. I just received my new kit which was sent on August 31 and it’s just sitting there because I don’t know if my hair will get darker again. Too dark for meMy former color, which was supposed to be Dark Blonde, made my dark BROWN, not dark blonde. I hope I am going to like the color I requested. On the plus side, no commercial blondish shade will cover my gray, although it turns the rest of my hair blonde. Go figure! what amazing customer service!!First off I really want to talk about the customer service, they are so nice and professional and heed to your needs! The first box I ordered never came and ESalon team was so sweet to send me another box free of charge! I'm adding a star just for them! For the color I'm going to make a pros and cons list Pros: 1. Box came fairly quick (within three days) 2. They give you personalized instructions based on your needs, and provide a lot of other things that help with the entire process, I wasn't expecting this much stuff to come along with the color. 4. There is definitely a lot of product! I only needed roots but the amount given could have covered my entire head of hair and still have left over amount. 5. The shampoo and conditioner smell AMAZING! Cons: 1. The smell, I'm not sure if all hair color smells this way but it definitely smelled like chemicals which is something my salon usually doesn't smell like (which is understandable there are so many things done at a salon maybe the smell gets masked) so I was a bit taken aback. At first I was worried about the color because of how strong the smell was and I was worried I was going to get a scalp reaction. 2. There was A LOT left over, which is nice that there is a lot of product but a lot also gets wasted. I wish they could give some sort of ratio so we could use as much as we need and not waste more than half the bottle. I had about 3/4 left over color after coloring my roots. 3. The color is REALLY hard to wash out! I had a hard time getting it all out of my hair, it felt pretty gunky and I had to shampoo thrice to get it out. 4. The color was a bit drying to my roots, which is not something I experience when I get it done at the salon. Edit: I'm not sure what happened whether it was the color or conditioner but something left a residue in my hair that even after two washes has still not come out. Hair Loss!I have used this color for over a year, and in the process have lost over 50% of my hair. I was excited about how well the color matched the Soft Black shade of my natural hair, and compared it to the savings of getting my hair colored at a Salon - and the combination was a win-win! However after a year of constant hair loss, I realized that I should have moved on a while ago. Once I connected the fact that it could be the hair color from e-Salon, I made a change and since using an alternate product my hair loss is minimal. Gave me exactly the OPPOSITE OF WHAT I ASKED FOR!The kit is beautiful. It arrived super quickly. The shampoo has left my hair in a lovely condition. HOWEVER: I specifically asked for my hair to have NO (and I did state this very clear NO BRASSY TONES) And I am left with hair that is basically strawberry blond. Just in case the colourists don't understand the word brassy here are some other words; ginger, copper, light red. I DO NOT WANT MY HAIR TO BE ANY OF THE ABOVE COLOURS I ASKED SPECIFICALLY FOR BLOND WITH NO NO NO BRASS. I followed the instructions to a T and timed to a second. I am hugely disappointed. Hair colorIt was a lot darker than I wanted. Normally a light brown is perfect for me. Also, it stained my head for over a week. Really noticeable where I part my hair.
