High quality dye, insanely strong smell, slightly off colorI tried out eSalon on a whim and I absolutely love the fact my hair actually took the dye. I have had a lot of trouble getting my hair to take dye before so I am very happy with how well the dye took. However, the color I chose, darkest black - ash, just turned out a matte black color. I was really looking for a raven blue black color, where it looks black but in bright light it is a brilliant blue color. The process of dying my hair was pretty simple. My hair goes beyond my shoulders so I had to use two bottles to get full coverage. The dye itself has an insanely strong smell and caused my eyes to water terribly. I couldn't hold my hair out in front of my face to see if I had covered the ends due to the strong smell. Instead I had to do everything behind my head and even then I was teary throughout the application. I strongly advise to use this dye outside or somewhere very well ventilated, a bathroom fan will not suffice. Washing out the dye will take quite a while as well, but it is worth the effort. I think I may reorder but I will be much more careful about the exact tone I'm looking for and apply it on a nice day outside. 0 of 0 people found this review helpful. Did you? |

Red/Pink HairApparently my last few orders were sent out wrong because I now have reddish pink hair and it's supposed to be a rich mahogany with a slightly Auburn tint!!! I've contacted Karen at esalon... she is very helpful and immediately saw the problem and is in the process of getting it corrected for me...I can't say enough positive things about how Karen has handled this whole situation!!! Didn't workI was so excited to try this . I got it today and went right in to use it. I don't even know if it dyed my hair. My roots are the exact same color as they were before. Overall, great product But wrong colorMy hair is somewhere between thier last blonde shade and thier lightest brunette. Its a very dirty blonde that has gotten darker over the years. I chose a cool toned lighter shade of blonde. Spoke with a nice lady over the phone. We disscussed the shade i picked wouldnt turn as light as i wanted, so we chose a medium blonde. I explained i turn brassy so she added some ash. Product came in 3 days so shipping was great. Package was damaged (i assume from delivery service), but contents were fine. Strand test was odd. Followed the directions exactly as end result was nearly no different than my color. Emailed customer service, havent heard back. Stupidly, After not hearing back i decided to just go for it. I figured what the heck, if anything would give me a shiny, even color. Well, it did lighten my hair a few shades. My hair feels moisturized and healthy. But my color... the ends turned out a nice blonde but the furthur you go up i am a strawberry color. My roots are pulling the most. I mean, i guess ill live. Wrong hair color but excellent customer service3/15/2018- Update: The customer service from esalon has been exceptional. They have been very responsive and have worked with me to find a resolution in a very professional manner. I very much appreciate and value that kind of customer service. (Original post) I wanted to try this product to 're-set' my hair to it's natural color. My color was supposed to be a dark mahogany brown. Instead, my is orangy red! I am going to have to spend quite a bit of money to correct the color at a salon (which is what I didn't want to do in the first place!) I will say, the customer service person I spoke with was excellent, however, he did confirm that they had recently had bottles mixed up and it looked like I was one of the one's who was affected. I AM SO SORRY i TRIED THIS PRODUCT. 2.8.2018- Following up- I did speak with a customer service agent originally and he stated he would talk to his manager to see 'what they could do' and at the very least, would refund the money I paid for the product.
