Very unreliable3 of my recent orders have been “lost in the mail”, and one was just entirely skipped for no apparent reason, so I haven’t been prepared to touch up my roots & color before 2 pretty major events, and have had to resort to drugstore hair coloring. Burned my hair more than other brandsColor was as I chose it but I’m going to adjust to a slightly darker color the next time. My only concerns with this companies formula is I had more than usual hair loss when I was rinsing the color out. It’s normal to have some hair loss when coloring but I had quite a bit more of hair burn than any other brands I’ve used like Madison Reed. If you feel you have been losing significantly more than this, you may have had an allergic reaction. In the future, we recommend performing a skin allergy test 48 hours before each hair color application. Very convenient, can’t beat the priceI think that overall this is a fabulous service. For custom color and endless patience on the part of the colorists who actually read your comments/revisions and adjust per your instructions, you can’t beat the price. I live in CA and I love that I can reach a colorist at 730 am on a Saturday or Sunday. The packaging and convenience of 2 sets of gloves shows someone put thought into this service. And getting the box makes me feel like I’m un opening an expensive present. It’s that pretty. For these reasons I’d love to give esalon 5 stars. If I am honest though, I will say I’m not100% satisfied with the gray coverage. UnbelievableI am shocked. Prior to COVID I was spending embarrassing amounts every six weeks on upkeep with for my long blonde hair. When the pandemic hit I was forced to do it myself and while it was ok for a few weeks the color didn’t keep and it just looked dull. That said, I realized I could color my hair myself and save hundreds of dollars a year. I saw esalon in allure and read all the amazing reviews and sent in my photo and decided to go for it. I received light blonde, the instructions are super easy - you tape them up to your mirror with the sticker provided for easy reference. You get two pairs of high quality non-latex gloves and a decent quality brush. I poured the color into a bowl (not provided) and brushed it on. I have thick hair that’s below my shoulders and had product left over after a root application. I left it on 30 min and rinsed as directed. When dried the color was perfect. Not brassy or too yellow - a perfect golden blonde that matched the lengths of my hair exactly. With the amount I was spending on boxed color it worked out to costing less (I require two boxes of the drugstore stuff) and the results are on par with the salon. I also bought a weekly treatment (the name escapes me but it’s a pink bottle) which is fabulous. I recommend this 100%. I am a covert for life.
