Just right for meI was so disappointed in a hair coloring I had done in a hair salon. It was much darker then I had asked for. I decided to try eSalon. I took the quiz a few times and I got the color I was hoping would lighten my hair a bit. They ordered me the medium brown (cool beige). Let me start with the process. It’s fancy. The box is big and it has a lot of moving parts to it. I read the directions 4 times before I started. I choose the brush method. I mixed the color which is extremely viscous and applied it as instructed to my roots. Waited 15 minutes and then applied the rest to the ends. There is plenty of color was short medium hair. Anything longer than shoulder blades will need 2 bottles to apply properly. When my ends processed the 10 minutes I then took the bottle and included shampoo and conditioner in the shower. Fill the bottle up with water and shake it. Then pour it over your head and massage for 2-3 mins. This part is tricky. It stinks and my nose burned a little at the chemical smell. Then the water ran clear. Applied the shampoo and conditioner and was done. The result: my dark brown is now a lovely shade of medium brown. It is not completely ashen. Resulted in brassy hairI was hoping to color the few gray hairs I have and lighten one shade, but the end result was brassy and many of my grays didn't color. Lovely colourAsked got my colour to be slightly changed after my first order and the colour is now perfect. Color lasted only 10 days!!I ordered black hair color. Thats what I got but after 10 days the color faded to medium/light golden brown. Not a happy camper!!! Will not use this product again!! 5/7/23 - Maggie, one of the colorists, emailed me last week. We discussed the quick fading, and she corrected the issue.
