What is that oily waxy residue?!!My hair is having trouble taking color. The roots take color great, but the bottom 3 or 4 inches do not want to hold color. I was hoping this product would be different. Well no such luck. The color on the roots and everywhere looked great at first, but there was this horrible waxy oily residue. I had rinsed and rinsed and rinsed and then used the shampoo provided and then rinsed some more. I had to use my own color shampoo to finally get the oily residue out of hair. It's really gross. I have never had that problem before with all the times I have colored my own hair or have had it professionally colored. Poor qualityI experienced a weird waxy build up when trying to rinse the color out. This happened the last two if not three times. TerribleThey decided to send different color than I ordered.... then, putting color on, smell was worst I've ever experienced. My hair was like straw for a few days, didn't feel like hair, had some kind of coating on that took about 3-4 days to come off. Wanted ash blonde got orange insteadI have some regrets about using this hair color. Mainly that I didn't follow my gut on a few decisions. I actually knew what I needed--a toner to correct brassy yellow highlights--but I decided to order this instead, because I wasn't confident about my DIY color/toner skills. The confusing response I got initially from the consultant made me want to cancel my order but I went ahead with it. That was a mistake. Another mistake was not doing a strand test. When I saw 15v developer I should have known that it wasn't going to work for me. My hair is stubborn and I don't think anything less than 20v will work on it. A strand test would have at least proved that without ruining all my hair, because the color is pretty ugly right now. At least my hair isn't breaking or anything but my scalp feels a little sensitive still. I'm pretty sure I could have gotten better results from a box color. Also disappointed that I second-guessed myself and fell for the slick marketing and a gimmicky product. Lesson learned: This product is just as risky as buying a box dye off the shelf. You can send photos and they can give you advice but they can't guarantee you'll get good results, just like any other color that comes out of a box. So it's a about $9 risk versus a $20+ risk. Either way if you mess it up you'll still end up at a salon paying $$$ for someone to fix it.
