Really disappointedThe last time I used esalon I was fairly happy. Unfortunately this time I'm quite disappointed. The color is significantly darker than excpected and had the worst time getting the oil out! I showered and shampooed 4 times and this thick gel substance was stuck to my hair. (Still working on getting the oil in the back out over 24 hours later and multiple washings) I contacted the support center and was told next time to follow the directions- I followed the directions exactly. The other suggestion is to use a clarifying shampoo. I should not have to buy a special product to remove this, especially when it was never mentioned before hand. Who wants to go out in public with there hair matted down in oil to buy shampoo??! I had a similar experience last time but nowhere near as bad and the color turned out okay-not perfect, but his time it's a medium brown not a dark ash blonde, so not easily able to be fixed unless I pay to go to a salon to have it lightened. The shade ended up better than last time on the top, but the bottom is greenish. Extrememly disappointed is time around. Current Hair Color received end of AugI was very happy with my initial purchase in June. I liked the color, the fumes did not irritate my eyes and my hair felt healthy. I used the color I received the end of Aug on Thursday, 9/14. Wash out quicklyIt was a very good experience doing this color, there's everything that we need in the box. I won't give more than 2 stars because my color is already washing out after less than a week, I dyed my hair in a deep black, and my brown/brassy tones are already back... Awesome grey coverage but it feels like glueGuys! If your goal is grey coverage, esalon works like a charm. If you want ease of coloring at home on your own, consider a different product. The time and effort it takes to wash this product out of your hair is not worth it. It feels like your entire mane is matted down with a thick coating of elmers glue. It took me several washes to feel comfortable going out of my house as It leaves such a weird coating on your hair. I color my hair, often. I wanted to give esalon a try and maybe try a different brand of color. My other issue. I chose my natural color of light ash brown. My hair pulled brassy orange at the roots. That never happens to me with ash which left me all sorts of confused. However, I was able to tone it with lavender/grey toner and it ended up being a splendid color. Really rich and beautiful. Grey coverage gives it the three stars. It's really great for greys. I wish I liked it better. I just can't get full coverageFor some reason some of my grays seem resistant to the color. After just a few days, right on my hairline, I can see gray strands of hair. I'm following the directions and timelines and I am disappointed. I may cancel my subscription because I hate taking the time and effort if it's not going to work completely. Need to apply it twice to make it sticks but nice results at the endI applied the product with the brush on my roots only, just as the description told me to do. But a lot of product was left in the bottle. After waiting 15 min as indicated, I washed my hair, let it dry, but the color did not really work. So I applied the rest of the product remaining in the bottle and let it sit for 20 min this time. The color of my roots was still lighter than the rest of my hair but I think is was because I did not order the right color. I ordered a 6 instead of a 4.
