I bought this because I was told it does NOT have bad chemicalsI'm so bummed. I am breaking out like crazy. I looked for a product that would not have the PPD additives or any harsh chemicals. Madison Reed promised that I would love this product and I've done nothing but scratch my head, my neckline and its even effecting my eyes, ears, forehead--basically everywhere. The presentation of product is nice, I like the color, although I wanted dark ash brown--the blue black is tooooooooooooooo dark. I didn't even put all of the color on. Once you go black, black you cant do anything else. The color was too much and I'm breaking out like crazy. So Madison Reed lied. Not the color I wanted and expectedThe online experience was fine (up to a point, see below). The product was beautifully packaged. My hair felt good afterward - texture, coverage was good. But the color itself wasn't the rich, vibrant red I had wanted and expected. I think if I could have talked live with a colorist it would have been better. There were color choices on my screen that were not active because I'd been pre-assigned to certain tones...this from the short survey taken prior to my color being formulated. 0 of 0 people found this review helpful. Tough greys?I was going fir a neutral light briwn. The salon team recommended I do a two step process with a gold filler first. Unfortunately this has left me with a very brassy light brown. Further it doesn’t cover my greys, just makes them brassy. It will wash out quickly . I’m frustrated as I either end up with very bleached white streaks when I get it professionally or I end up with a color that is not natural and very brassy when I do it myself. High hopes, sorrowfully disappointedI was really looking forward to this product. I was so happy when it came and couldn’t wait to try coloring my hair for the first time. It didn’t change my hair color at all. I followed all the instructions but after applying all over my head, waiting 30 minutes, blending, and washing everything out, and drying my hair, nothing happened. Same color before and after, absolutely no change. Very upsetting waste of time and I hope I can get my money back.
