Color NewbieI was nervous about applying my own hair color for the first time. Initially I chose a color that would not look natural so I got a polite eSalon phone call and my color was adjusted to better suit my goal shade. I read my personal instructions, watched the eSalon videos, I let the lavender box sit for over a week. I called and asked questions and the color expert was very kind and helpful! I followed all instructions for the brush and bowl technique. I was nervous while the color processed. I was tense during the rinse and shampoo and finally calmed after the conditioner that made my hair soft and shiny! I dried my hair and was very pleased with my results. I’ll always follow the instructions! It is important to leave notes for your colorist and send a picture. They read and look at them! I am so happy to save money and time! Love the colour - Hate the new designI love the products and the colour is perfect - but what have they done to the design. Its gone from being beautifully designed and aspirational to basic and and badly designed. The design was what first attracted me. Color was way too darkThe color was too dark and I would have to buy more product to get the color I wanted. I was told without buying that product I can't go lighter. I had my hair lightened by a professional and he said this is not true. Not the experience I’d hoped for.I was sent a preview of my color shortly after ordering and it was. NOT what I hoped for and I immediately reached out to try and change it. The first response I got was simply suggesting I do a strand test. No offer to halt production and discuss my concerns or even compassion for my situation considering this is my HAIR and not a pair of shoes. By the time customer service responded to my second request for help, the box had already been shipped. I was (and still am) frustrated because other reviews talked about how personal the process was, but it didn’t work that way for me. I tried the strand test but the color didn’t take, so I went for the full application. I had two bottles- 1 roots, 1 ends. What I wanted was to match my current deep red color (which I was VERY clear about and added a photo as suggested). What I ended up with was a muddy brown with limited gray coverage. I hope other people have a better experience than I did. Dreadful experienceIf I could give 0 stars, I would have. After all the advertisements I expecting a fantastic color.
