Fell victim to the gunky gummy residueI spent a ridiculous amount of time rinsing this product out of my hair and it still didn’t feel clean. Used the enclosed shampoo and conditioner. I’ve been coloring my own hair for 25 years and I followed these directions precisely. Tried to dry my hair and it had such a gunky, gummy residue that was greasy and I couldn’t get a brush through my hair. Let it dry and it has this greasy residue when I touch my hair. Got back into shower and shampooed twice, then used conditioner. Got out of shower and it’s almost nearly as bad. Was supposed to go out for my husband’s birthday tonight and I’m embarrassed at how awful my hair looks and feels right now. Really ruins everything. Will NOT use this product again. Extremely disappointedI had high hopes considering this was supposed to be customized colour. I don't understand why it looks nothing like the picture I chose it's much darker on the places I applied second bottle, I'm actually super depressed about it. Didn’t change the color of my hair at allI wasted money on this product and it didn’t even change the color what so ever. Never will I buy again. AaaaaamazingI have been using box dye since I was 20 and got my first gray hair. I’ve always been bummed with the results always ending up too dark or being such a weird color. This year, for the first time I went to a salon for color. I paid $300 for a color that was only ok, provided by possibly the meanest person ever. 6 months later I finally found esalon. I paid $10 for my first box and got to decide the exact color I wanted. My colorist emailed me for a picture because I didn’t include one. Then we emailed back and forth because she wanted to know exactly what I was looking for and she even suggested going a lighter shade of brown, to avoid my fear of going too dark. OH MY GOODNESS. this is the best color I have ever used and I will never ever stop using esalon. It’s the perfect shade of brown, with the perfect undertones. The actual process of dying was made so simple and easy by the kit and the color was literally exactly what I’ve wanted for the past 7 years but never been able to obtain. It’s been three weeks since I colored and I still love it. It’s faded a little obviously but im finally not getting that weird red brown color that I’ve always hated. I already can’t wait to dye my hair again and added the color tint and the clips to my next auto ship. Washing Color OutI have been ordering from ESalon for 3 years now. I love the concept and the color. However, it is difficult to wash th color out and leaves a sticky film on my hair, for 3 or more days, even after diligently trying to wash it out several times. I also referred my sister and a friend who had even more trouble then me - it might have to do with the water they use. However, we all agree the color and concept is awesome but it is so frustrating trying to wash it out. Therefore I am now too canceling my account. If you ever improve this aspect of the product I will definitely rejoin and I am sure my sister and friend would as well. Please keep me posted.
