Great Gray Coverage; Color Too DarkWhen I finally got around to using the hair color I ordered, I was happy with most aspects of using the hair color. It was easy to apply, the directions were clear and most importantly, it covered the gray. The brush that came in the package was very helpful in applying color to the front of my hair where the gray is most prominent and stubborn. I liked getting two pairs of gloves, so I could use one for applying the color and the other for rinsing. The only thing I didn't like was the color is too dark. I tried to make it clear in my profile that I don't want my hair to be dark brown when I get done, but perhaps I didn't do so. I think dark brown (or other dark colors) look harsh and obviously dyed in older women like me. (55, I'm 55 ). My hair is about 1/3 gray, so it should be possible for it not to be so dark. I have used hair color before with a lighter result, so I know it can be done. Great colorThe color does not fade between colorings. The gray grows out, but the color is still rich and vibrant, which means I can go a little longer between coloring. esalon custom haircolor is the best!I have used what is supposedly "the best" boxed color from the drug store...all of them, in fact, and none of them come close to esalon in quality. My color lasts forever, Gray never comes through and I wear my hair very long and usually only do a root touch up. The custom color is blended beautifully and I have gorgeous highlights, especially when I am in the sun. BEST COLOUR EVERThis is the only colour I have ever used that does not fade at all. it lasts until my next colour is due and still no fade.
