The good and the badI'll start with the positives-- I loved having a stylist custom design my hair color for me. The packing was beautiful (and personalized-- so very fun!) and shipping was extremely convenient. The price was right for at-home color that promised salon results. My color did end up matching its promised shade (dark ash brown), so I was pleased with the outcome. Normally, any dark hair dye immediately turns my hair black, but that was not the case with this product. Additionally, my color was multi dimensional and left my hair with a nice shine. However, this is the strongest smelling dye I have ever used. I could barely breathe while waiting for it to dry because the chemical smell was so overwhelming. Additionally, it really dried out both my hair and my scalp; this does not normally happen to me with boxed color or at the salon. While the color was a perfect match to the promised shade, it quickly washed out and faded-- so much so that you can no longer tell that I ever dyed it. I was disappointed with the lack of longevity and the dryness that resulted from this color, especially when compared to other boxed dyes. Overall, I don't regret this purchase as it did provide about 2 weeks of lovely color. Endless optionsI provided my information and was provided two color options. One was much darker than I would like, but I LOVE the second option. I provided notes to the colorist and they continued to develop a color that was just right for me. So, if your not pleased with your first order continue to let them know so they can make adjustments. ITS WORTH IT. their colors are the best in-home products EVER. Review on the developerJust colored my hair for the first time using eSalon. This is a review just on the developer. It was so strong I could hardly breathe. Seriously wow!!! I've been coloring my own hair for 20 years, and never have I experienced such a strong overwhelming chemical type of burning, in my lungs when I tried to breathe. Hair color reviewHi there..I finally tried the personalized color you sent me...& it came out as I expected. I want irridescant violet mahogany. The color looked great as it processed.a little messy to apply as was more liquid than I'm use to. Anyway...in the end...the root coverage is a dark auburn & the rest of my hair is pitch black. I wanted to love it, but...I have to say the customer service was top notch! My first color was really off (I think I ordered wrong color for me) and the rep readily sent me a new color free of charge. Again, not right and did not cover my nearly all white roots. Custom hair colorI have never used color from box at Walgreens or Target so I cannot really compare. Instructions were clear and very easy to use. Nice colour WRONG shadeI really wanted a change so deep violet purple it was to be. Only this time I knew I also wanted to try eSalon for a better colour and condition after colouring my hair. I knew I was taking a big leap from washy red to the vibrant violet purple I had picked out, but was ok with it as I'm a ex~hairdresser. Colour day arrived looks good mixing it, looks deeper when on but you can't tell when it's wet!! TADAHHHHH!!! OH! NOT the colour I'd picked out, not the lush vibrant violet purple I'd paid for but dark brown with a 'hint' of purple.....GUTTED!!! I was that disappointed I just dried my long hair and tied it up! My hubby was 'let's look then' as it was him that had treated me (paid) "I thought it was going to be purple not brown!" an that was outside in the daylight were it should have been lush and bright.....NO BROWN!!! So! What do I do now? Trust eSalon again and pay another £16-? Or go back the the dye in a box from the super market??? So eSalon......Whdt do I do now?
