What is the point to send a picture!I had tried esalon few months ago and was not that satisfied so I had stopped then I gave another try this month. Let me tell you I will not order again. I sent a new picture that clearly showed my dark roots. I asked for a medium brown ash and the color turned out light brown with red. I specifically said I wanted to match my root color and did not want any red. Well it did not happen. Will not order again. Didn't make my hair the color I wantedMy hair seemed to be darker than I wanted it and it didn't have hardly any red in it. They do an excellent job of matching your complextion to the hair color, but this time it didn't turn out the way I was hoping it would.. I should have just went back to the color I first ordered from them in 2014, but my complection may not have matched it. Disappointed in the color but probably was partly my fault because I tried to tell them what color I wanted and I am known to not say exactly what I am trying to say. Anyway that is what one of my sisters told me. NEVER AGAINTried this hair color once and that was enough. Worst hair color product I've ever used. You get two sets of bottles - one for roots and one for ends. First, it's not very easy to separate those out on your own head all over your head. Some things really are better left to stylists. The smell of the first bottle was fine. The fumes from the second were horrendous! Good thing it only needed to be on for 10 minutes because it was nose burning bad. But the worst was yet to come. Followed all the instructions then got to the wash, condition, and rinse phase. Seems simple enough, right? Wrong. As I was washing this stuff out of my hair, I noticed that my hair felt weird - hard to describe but sort of wavy and stiff and my head felt sort of numb in a way, just strange and not like I've experienced before. When I finished washing, my hair felt tangled and just bad. So I conditioned thinking that would make it silky smooth like my hair usually is after coloring. Nope. It still felt bad. But it gets worse. As my fingernail ran over a part of my scalp, I noticed something was congealed/gummy in my fingernail. I ran my nails over another area and got the same. My whole head had a gummy coating. Needless to say, I was freaking out because I wasn't sure if my scalp was rubbing off as I tried to scrape this gunk off or if the products had somehow congealed on my head despite a very good rinsing. And the residue in my tub was pretty bad - even the shampoo wouldn't get rid of the excess color in my hair like it says it will. But that gumminess!! It was horrible, frightening, and inexcusable. I washed again. Still there. Meanwhile I had my family check online and lo and behold, this isn't uncommon. I called support and they were very nice but that doesn't make up for the problem. What is advantage?I tried this product after a positive review in Allure which makes me now wonder if it was an advertorial. The packaging was nice but you still need a good product. The product left my fine blonde hair feeling like wax. It took 3 shampoos (one with a body wash) to get rid of the waxy feeling. The color was dull and not close to the picture I submitted. After using a drug store product, my hair is shiny and has body. Plus the box color is accurate. And I don't pay shipping. The price for this product is not bad if it delivered good color and nice looking hair. And the concept of "salon" quality color mixed for you and delivered to your home is appealing.
