Not real happyThis did cover my gray which is hard to do, so thumbs up for that. But even though I got an Ash base with my dark blond and I wrote that my hair picks up brassy tones very easily and the color only had a sliver of gold....my hair turned out Alburn which will be brassy in a couple of shampooing..... so I will fix this by going to Sally's and getting a bleach to strip it out cuz that is the only way I can get the red out. Automatic subcription which I did not remember signing up forI haven’t use the product I ordered due to the colour bottles as yoo tght and nobody in the house can open it. Now I received an email informing me that my next order is coming which I did not remeber signing up for subscription or autmatic order. Not worth the money you'll have to spend to fix itI previously left a great review of this product. Unfortunately, after the first time, I adjusted my hair color to be slightly darker and was VERY disappointed with the formula and the color. Patchy, inconsistent color that faded quickly, left my hair feeling damaged, and looked very "color from the box." I gave it another shot after that, thinking it was my own error. Despite having colored my hair myself many times before, the color turned out even worse than the second time--patchy and brassy. I had to spend $200 to fix it. On top of that, I tried to cancel my account after my last use, and sure enough, three months later, I get an email from the company that another shipment was sent. Terrible qualityI’ve been using this product for 2 years or so. Over the past year I have seen the quality totally deteriorate monthly. The past several orders that I have received have done absolutely nothing for my grey roots (the whole reason for my order,) and this last month was like a complete placebo, I wish I could show you all a picture of my post application hair because it’s clear that this product doesn’t work. My grey hairs at very few and not that complicated, so I am pretty displeased with the fact that this product can’t color them. Needs more red!I love the dye but it only lasts 3 weeks. My box color I usually buy lasts about 8 weeks. My color is still brown but it's getting to the red I want. It needs more red/ violet. Not the bestI reached out and asked for my custom color to be a little more rich, darker in color because it was fading uneven, so they added an additional bottle of color for the ends of my hair that would even out the color. If hair jaundice was a thing, that would be an appropriate name for this colorI was really excited to try this product as it seemed as though an exciting challenge to the standard box color. Cute packaging and custom labels can't cover the fact that the color itself was terrible and forced me quickly out the door to get something to cover the atrocity it brought. I was looking for a dark blonde color and was dismayed to find an awful yellow color that made me look like a sickly leprechaun. 3rd time is not the charmI've really enjoyed getting my hair color in the mail, but it seems they just can't get the color right. I've given them 3 tries, and every time I left a note with the colorist that my hair keeps turning out red. I want dark blonde with no hint of red. But, somehow my comments aren't being heard. Didn’t work on my hairThe color took only on parts of my hair, leaving me with patches of blonde and red—it was very uneven and I had to pay a lot and spend six hours having it fixed. Straw like hairI really liked how my color turned out, it was the perfect shade of brown. However after each time I color my hair with esalon it leaves it feeling like straw and really dry. Mixed feelingsMy hair color (medium brown pearl mahogany)...violet range...looks NOTHING like the color described or pictured. I see no purple what so ever. I see mostly a copper color. Not the color I wantedMy hair was brown with blonde highlights. I was looking for a medium to dark blonde look. My hair color is now ash brown. I am not a fan of red/ash on me. Not what I was looking for. I hate the thought of having to go back to my salon to have them correct the color. Update: I am still waiting to hear back from the color expert. First time coloring 😮My first time to ever color my hair was an epic failure! 😢 Im a burnette & wanted to be an Auburn but after using what my personal colorist mixed for me there was NO CHANGE 😡 Just my greys were a little red but quickly washed away. Why didnt my colorist advise me the red wouldnt show? Why not TELL ME what i need to go to Auburn or Redhead? Does anyone know how to go from brown to red and actually see it?! Ok but not at all the colour I wantedI didn't get any of the problems I was worried about after reading reviews online. (Sticky hair, hair loss...) So that was a plus as I was very worried. My issue is that the colour is nothing like the one I wanted. It's not bad but not what I wanted. The consultant called me during working hours so never got me and then decided to send the colour anyway without double checking with me. I think you should not send until you have managed to contact the customer via hone or email. Now if I want the correct colour I have to pay again when it is not my fault if the colour is not what I wanted. Not Enough ColorMy hair is thick and past my shoulders, not insanely thick but I did mention a concern about this to the colorist as we planned. Unless I use two boxes of color from the drugstore I run out resulting in a disaster. I was reassured by my colorist that there would be more than enough color. There wasn’t. I give the product 3 stars because the portion for my roots worked nicely and I loved the color. But my ends were barely saturated and therefore barely got color. I got comments from friends that the grow out/roots were less visible but that the bottom portion (essentially my entire ponytail) looked about the same. Great shine, not great colour match, messyMy hair is amazingly shiny, however my mid brown copper request has resulted in a very dark brown with no red/orange even in the sunlight :( Other point to note is how watery the mixture you put on your hair is, very messy. Help Greys day 10This color does not last! I use Lanza color safe shampoo from the salon. This is not affordable. This color last as long as box color I buy at Walgreens but twice as much. I wrote last time that I needed heavy grey coverage. You said you were going to create a formula that lasts. And it does not. Is your color only for younger people with no gray hair? Just not a fanI’ve tried it a couple of tries and I just don’t like any of the colors made. It is also a very long tedious process that I don’t look forward to. I have natural dark brown hair and when I dye it a dark brown it comes out red. Every time, even after adjustments. It just isn’t what is expected. Great at first....Great at first....did all over color LOVED it. But my problems are my grays they are strong and many! I normally get at least 5 weeks if not 6 from the salon. 4 weeks from the 'store' color . this only lasted 3 1\2 weeks :( so I think budget wise,,,its back to the store for me. ******UPDATE 2/21/18 I wrote to the company about my issue with the grays.....They suggested I dye my hair every TWO WEEKS!!!!!! WHAT!?? Good idea in theory, but not as good as it could beThere is a difference between salon formulations and non salon. This is NOT as good or healthy for hair as salon formulations, unfortunately, although I suppose it is better than box color (the lowest kind.) If only it were closer to salon it would be ideal -- I mean a WONDERFUL idea -- and I am looking still to find this. The service however is top notch, as is everything else about this service. If they can only get closer to what I get at the salon (i.e. grey coverage, better quality color rather than too opaque) I would love this. Touch up of Custom Hair colorI like the hair color; however even applying a mask the night before and following the color directions exactly, I am not happy with the coverage of gray at the hairline. I hv never had color do this!I followed directions to the letter. When time was up and I rinsed my hair, it felt like my hair was coated in PLASTIC! It took 4 shampoos with a salon grade color safe shampoo to remove whatever it was. The substance was difficult to clean from the colorist tools too. For med ash brown my hair looked dark brown. Problem is it faded at the roots. I am not a happy customer. At 1st I thought maybe user error but the 2nd time I had my daughter who colors her hair apply it. It was not user error. Buyer BewareI just received my first kit and after coloring and following the directions to a T I proceeded to jump in the shower. I wet my fingers and massaged my hair just like the instructions said and as soon as I started to rinse I noticed a really gummy, waxey build-up that wouldn't rinse out. I washed with your shampoo and conditioner and it wasn't even touching the build up. It was like I washed with Crisco. Thankfully I was able to get it out with my Wen after 6 washes but it was awful. I was terrified I was going to lose hair or damage it. Thankfully it is ok. The color isn't very vibrant and 3 days later my gray is already showing through. I have been coloring my gray myself for 5+ years and have never had an issue like this. I would not recommend this product to anyone and the 1 star is only because you can't leave zero. Hard to cover grey.I received a complimentary color kit after my review of my 1st kit. (which was very nice and unexpected) because the 1st color kit did not do a good job of coloring the grey around my temples. Tired the 2nd kit same problem. I didn't do the dye job myself my retired friend who was a hairdresser did it so I know it was done correctly. Had the dye covered my extremely hard to cover greys it would have been perfect color job. I tried eSalon hoping to find a color that would work on my stubborn greys. I can buy a root booster product at the drugstore for way less that will give me the same results I got from your product. Also, the amount of product sent for short hair is a total waste. Fading FastI am disappointed with how short a time the hair color lasted. It's been less than two weeks since I colored my hair using your product and my roots are fading fast where I colored it. I was using Salon Care which I purchased at Sally's Beauty and it lasted 6 or more weeks. It actually had to grow out to see the gray. With your product, it's fading fast and will have to be touched up before my hair even has a chance to grow. It's alrightDirections were clear which is always good. There isnt anything special about the color. It's not like I had alot of options since my hair is so dark on its own. Not right for meIt took forever to rinse out.. had a product build up on my scalp and hair that i could literally scrape off with my nails.. and am really disappointed that there doesnt seem to be even tge slightest hint of blue to the colour... left me having to buy another home dye to ensure my hair matched again with my extentions.. (*note i didnt use the dye on my extentions) hair felt very claggy upon drying it... Not suitable for everyone i guess as some reviews are great. Not crazy about it...I was very much looking forward to receiving my colour. When i did I was over the moon. Shipping was super fast and easy. However I found that the colour did not lift into my ends very well. My roots looked lovely. The exact colour I wanted. I was surprised as I dont have much prior colour in my hair and I haven’t dyed it in over a year and a half. I was just expecting a bit more. Perhaps I didn’t follow the instructions correctly? Good product. Gentle on your hair.I used this product for like a year, I believe. At first it was really nice. I received compliments on my hair color... it looked alive and full of natural looking shades. But after using it for a year or so, my hair started looking dull and lifeless. My touch ups, that used to be once a month or even every 5 to 6 weeks, my hair started demanding them every 3 weeks. Sometimes a little sooner than that! In the end, It was as much a monetary reason, as a dissatisfaction with the product, what made me discontinue that especific product of all the others I love from eSalon! In the end, I didn’t get the shades I’ve got at the beginning, nor the healthy natural looking color. It still is a good product. It did not covered my gray hair at all,even after following the instructionsThe colour is very hard to wash off i had to shampoo my hair 3 times,also it did not covered my gray hair at all . Color is just ok, my fault when orderingThe formula is thick and kind of oily so it stayed in my hair and felt really greasy until I used vinegar to get it completely washed out of my hair the next day.
